LadyBug

by Ariane Lucchini

A tiny little box, that's where she figured out she was after the longest three hours of her life. Darkness embraced her and she couldn't remember the last time she had been so lonely. Come to think of it, she couldn't remember anything at all. Where had she been three hours ago? How did she get here? And why didn't anyone free her?
She started to panic, her heart beat faster and her eyes swelled up with anxious tears. She frantically started gasping for air until she realized there wasn't any air to gasp for. Her eyes filled with terror as all of her frantic thoughts condensed into one. One desire that just happened to be the most natural thing of all: to breathe.

About the Author: Ariane Lucchini is 17 years old. Ariane, who calls herself Ari, hasn't lived in NY her whole life, in fact she just moved from another country 10 months ago. She was born and raised in Northern Italy, by her American mother and Italian father. She's suffered through many “culture shocks” throughout her young life and still does from time to time. Because of her cultural background she's been exposed to different perspectives on life, which has influenced her writing greatly.
